BXF SDK- a library for BXF protocol management developed by Tecom Group, that allows Traffic System and Automation System integration.
BXF (Broadcast eXchange Format) - is an SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) standard for data exchange in the broadcasting industry. It describes three types of data: planning and information management, metadata, instructions for content modification. Today BXF is the only protocol that allows data interchange between a broadcast automation system and business systems. It enables commercial departments of a company to be fully integrated in the whole workflow (what was impossible earlier) and, therefore, to reduce time for information processing, reports generation and financial planning. BXF puts data in XML-files that eliminates the need for creating intermediate files of various formats for information interchange between remote departments.
The main benefit of working with BXF consists in immediate error detection while preparing the content or playing it to air. An error notification is speedily sent to the person in charge. For example, if the system detects a “gap” in the playlist, both the managing engineer and the program director will be immediately informed. Thus, the staff have enough time to correct the playlist.
