Melbourne,Fl — Tecom Group was included in PLOUD Group – a list of companies providing products and tools which support EBU R 128 recommendations - a new and open standard for balancing audio programs according to their actually perceived loudness.
The first version of EBU R 128 recommendations appeared in 2010 and that was the result of hard work of audio experts from PLOUD Group led by Florian Camerer. These recommendations were gradually adopted by many European countries and today the most of the existing laws and standard acts, which regulate audio signal levels in broadcast, are based on EBU R 128. Basically EBU R 128 recommends to normalize audio at -23 LUFS ±0.5 LU (±1 LU for live programmes), measured with a relative gate at -10 LU.
Now the list of EBU R 128 complaint solutions consists of 79 parties what proves that the loudness compliance issue is still important and broadcasters remain concerned about audio level of the streamed content.
