Telecommunications

Today the telecommunications market can be described as rapidly growing: the number of mobile subscribers has increased substantially, telecommunications networks are in full swing and new services are being constantly introduced.

Such a vigorous growth of the telecommunications market challenges operators to implement new technologies in order to optimize their activities.

TECOM has been working with telecommunications providers for many years and offers a full scope of reliable, scalable and flexible solutions from leading vendors such as Hewlett Packard or Harris Stratex.

We have a broadest experience in implementing mediation systems.

Mediation solution that we have introduced at the Inter-regional OJSC “SvyazInvest” is considered to be the world’s biggest IUM-based system in terms of the amount of sources and collection servers.

TECOM offers the following solutions:

Examples of implemented projects

Customer Project title Project Description

Inter-regional OJSC «Svyazinvest»

Implementation of HP IUM-based mediation system at the Nizhny Novgorod branch

Project aim:

  • Build the system to collect and preliminary process call record data from objects of fixed-line networks (Automatic trunk exchange, area communications centre, transit exchange, city communications network) and to further submit the data to the single centralized inter-operator billing system («Start»).

The system can process:

  • Voice traffic call record data from AXE, EWSD, ÀÒÑÊÓ, Iskratel, etc.
  • CDR on additional services

Implementation of HP IUM-based mediation system at the Ural branch

Project aim:

  • Build the system to collect and preliminary process call record data from objects of fixed-line networks (Automatic trunk exchange, area communications centre, transit exchange, city communications network), data from DTNs (Radius, NetFlow) and to further submit the data to the single centralized inter-operator billing system (interconnect).

System basis:

  • 2-server HP 9000 Superdome cluster at data processing centre
  • HP Proliant DL 320/360/380-based collection servers
  • HP OpenView IUM 4.5
  • HP StorageWorks RISS - data backup system

Project outcome:

  • Development of several hundreds of collectors for different voice switches
  • Tailor-made software – new IUM classes and components

Design and implementation of network audit system

Project aim:

  • Design and implementation of an efficient support system to collect, consolidate, edit and use the audit information about network resources that is being utilized in business processes of ADSL services provision at logical and physical level.

Project outcome:

  • Development of database for consolidated storage of audit information
  • Development of modules and interfaces to transform, consolidate and load information from forms to database; graphic user interfaces, applications and interfaces to export data from the system

Implementation of quality control system for provided services

Project aim:

  • Obtain objective evaluation of the provided broadband access services

The system can perform:

  • Regular monitoring of services and devices involved in broadband services’ provision
  • Data consolidation, calculation of quality indexes
  • Presentation of data in the form convenient for analysis

Implementation of service activation system based on HP OpenView Service Activator

Project aim:

  • Implement the service activation system for subscribers of digital broadband xDSL access
  • Create portal for on-line services management

Project outcome:

  • The system has been successfully operating

Implementation of the HP OpenView Service Activator-based automated maintenance system for DTN

Project aim:

  • Automate the business processes “subscribe/unsubscribe user” for the xDSL broadband access equipment
  • Integrate the service activation system with incident management system HP ServiceDesk

Project outcome:

  • We built the pattern for audit database
  • Technological processes procuring the execution of terms of reference have been developed
  • User interfaces to enable operator’s interaction with the system have been developed
  • HP ServiceDesk integration modules have been developed

OJSC «Interregional Transit Telecom»

Design and implementation of the applications’ integration system

Project aim:

  • To build a HP OpenView IUM-based applications’ integration system

The system solves the following task:

  • It serves as a single platform for collecting and processing inventory data from elements of transit network of MTT.

System basis:

  • 2 HP Integrity rx4640 - server cluster
  • HP OpenView IUM 4.5
  • Backup system: HP OV Storage Data Protector

System processes:

  • Call data record of voice traffic (AXE, EWSD, STROM)
  • Data on transit of signal traffic (SS#7)
  • IP node data(Radius, NetFlow)
  • Inventory data VoIP, MMSC, WLAN
